I’m off to the National Stationery Show

Only two more days until I travel to the National Stationery Show to exhibit Sweetbeets! I was hoping to continue posting this week but still have a long list of last minute things to do before I leave. So there will be no posts for the next two weeks, but I hope you’ll join me again the week of May 26th. If you’re curious in the meantime about what’s happening at the show, I’m planning to update my Sweetbeets blog with a report from the show. If you’re attending the show, please visit me at booth 2134!

Watch ‘The story of stuff’ on Earth Day

Seeing as it’s Earth Day today, I thought it would be a good time to link to The Story of Stuff. What is this all about? Below you’ll find a description from the website. I hope you’ll take the time to watch this very enlightening video about the real costs of all of the stuff we buy and where it goes when we don’t want it anymore.

The Story of Stuff is a 20-minute, fast-paced, fact-filled look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns, with a special focus on the United States. All the stuff in our lives, beginning from the extraction of the resources to make it, through its production, sale, use and disposal, affects communities at home and abroad, yet most of this is hidden from view. The Story of Stuff exposes the connections between a huge number of environmental and social issues and calls for all of us to create a more sustainable and just world. It’ll teach you something. It’ll make you laugh, and it just may change the way you look at all the stuff in your life forever.
