Greeting cards market on the rise

Greeting cards are the fastest growing category in the overall stationery market according to results of an in-depth survey of 1205 recent stationery buyers that was conducted by Unity Marketing, a marketing consulting firm specializing in the luxury consumer marketplace. Sales of greeting cards had been declining between 2000 and 2004, but the market has turned around. This finding is attributed to more people buying greeting cards at specialty retailers who offer high quality, design-led stationery and reflects a general trend in consumer shopping preferences away from mass merchants and towards specialty retail.

Bubble The Kids Trade Show will debut London edition in 2008

It is hardly surprising that Bubble New York has become the must-see show for retailers who are looking for new vendors of children’s clothing, shoes, toys and accessories with a modern aesthetic. With just under 100 select exhibitors at the July 2007 show (in contrast to a reported 1012 exhibitors at the 2007 ABC Kids Expo), Bubble makes it easy for retailers to find brands that are not widely known and this helps them keep their shops unique. The experience that Bubble offers ties in nicely with the trend towards curated consumption. Bubble London will launch in January 2008 with exhibitors showing their Fall/Winter 2008 collections, followed by another edition in June 2008 for Spring/Summer 2009 collections. The 2008 dates for Bubble New York are set for March 9th through March 11th.
