The story of The Mouse Works is impressive. Cute, fun, functional and even crazy hats for babies, kids and adults are handmade by Ryan Williamson in the mountains of Virginia. Each hat is made from pieces of fleece discarded by factories, some of which is made from recycled pop bottles. His business produces minimal waste, and he has even used his scraps as insulation in the ceiling of his storage shed! If we didn’t have an excess of hats at home right now, I would totally buy these hats. This is exactly the type of business I want to support. I’m sure I’ll be back next winter. These windproof fleece mountain hats look perfect.
