  1. This book is on my Amazon Wish List! (because the waiting list at the library is forever long…)
During the holidays I always come back to the memory of my favorite gifts when I was young were (real) tools for our tool box, wood scraps, boxes of nails, new paints, etc… Coming for a TV-Free home my brother and I loved to build, create and explore all day long. I hope to create an environment for my children where this kind of natural, simple entertainment flourishes.

  2. This book sounds interesting! This would come in handy when my now 3 month old grows older, I’d love to keep our family life simple and spend time together with less TV, video games, computer…

  3. I *love* the look of this book, and more and more am finding that I need reminders like a book staring me in the face to live and be the way I believe. Thanks for such a lovely give away! And for all your great info/tips.

  4. I would love this book as I definitely need more simplicity in my life.

  5. Hi there! Thanks for the link! Glad to have found this post, because the book you have recommended is right up my alley! This year my “theme” is simplicity (which you may already know from my blog), and I was just thinking of how I could apply that to my parenting as well. Unfortunately my three year old is already into TV, computers, having the latest toys (which she sees on commercials), etc. and it has really been getting me down. This book is exactly what I need to help steer me in the right direction! Thanks for the recommendation, and if I don’t win I will definitely be hitting the library or amazon for it!

  6. i was just checking in over at your etsy shop and found my way here. and just in time to enter this lucky giveaway! thank you for this! i will be back again and again to visit this lovely little blog.
    love, lindsay

  7. I’m a new mom (my little girl is 8 weeks today!), and I would love to read some life-simplifying tips! Especially for the years to come when she’s running around!

  8. I would love some simplifying tips! I think it is so easy to get caught up in wanting to do all the neat stuff out there.

  9. I would love to simplyfy by getting rid of stuff. There is just too much “stuff” in my house and I find myself focusing and fretting about that while forgetting to enjoy the simple things.

  10. I love the simple things in life and the less stuff we have the better I feel (plus I spend less time cleaning it all up). I would love even more tips on simplifing. I’m definantly putting this on my wish list.

  11. Living simply and minimally is no longer simple as we have recently become a family of six. i acknowledge this is a privilege that has become a problem for us folks living in a first world culture. less stuff. more joy. peace of mind. thank you for the book!

  12. I have been thinking about this a lot lately. I don’t live simply in term of “stuff”. I’ve always thought it was okay to amass stuff because it was second hand. But I have recently begun to feel buried by my stuff. Also feeling guilty at all the “thrifted” stuff I’m throwing my kids way. The impact on them in the same as if I was one of those spoiling parents getting stuff at the toy store all the time.
So even though there is no room on my bookshelf for this book, I could sure use the read!
    Cheers,
    Tracey

  13. One of my resolutions this year is to use what I have. I just made a quilt from fabric in my stash. :)

  14. I love the theme of this = I think maybe even adults could use the help to remember to “play” more simply … thanks for the post and the lovely artwork - the image with the bicycle and the words just really speak to me (I don’t own a car= my bike is mine :))

  15. Live Simply!!!

  16. simplicity means less chaos!

  17. Love the theme of the book. Would love to read it.

  18. I’d love to have this book! Since being laid off five weeks ago, I’m simplifying everything and, if truth be told, enjoying it thoroughly. My son and I have had more fun in the last five weeks than in the last year combined! Thanks for hosting this giveaway.

  19. Love the concept of this book . . . so needed in the book (and mama) world right now.

  20. Being a new mom, I am overwhelmed and need to simplify my life in order to come to peace with my new life with my beloved child.

  21. Living simply has been a necessity for us as we lived in really tiny apartments in brooklyn. The first one was fine for one person, not great but manageable for a couple, rather tough with a baby. We moved to a slightly bigger place when she started to crawl - and then had another baby. I have actually considered writing a minimalist’s guide to motherhood. I would love to further simplify!

  22. Living simply leaves time for the most important things, like enjoying my children while they’re young. You can’t get that back! I love to simplify things.

  23. Oh I love your blog! And I also have this book on my wishlist…. It’s so important to start teaching our kids early about the ecology!!!
Congrats on a really cool site a great suggestions!

  24. Well, simplicity would be nice having just added our 4th child on Jan.1, 2009!!! Haha, and the next day our oldest turned 5!!! So… needless to say we are in great need to help simplify our sweet organized chaos!!! ;)

  25. ahh, simplicity…much needed!

  26. I came by your blog via Bobs and Lolo. I can’t wait to read more!

  27. I have a (soon to be) two year old and another on the way and I’m always looking for more ways of interacting and connecting with our child.

  28. Hi! I know I can’t enter being in Japan but I wanted to say thanks for your really really kind comments on my parenting confessions today on my blog. Yours was one that stuck with me all day, it was so kind.

Now I see why! (what kind of a mum you are) This looks like an excellent book and a great forum to peek into. It’s very timely.

I am thinking seriously about over-consumption lately. We buy buy buy constantly yet we already have so much. I am looking forward to spending some days in the garden with the kids and in the kitchen baking these spring holidays rather than dashing off to the shops or latest modern entertainment place. back to basics!

Thanks again, it really meant a lot to me.

  29. This book seems amazing. I stumbled on your site through Google reader and am enjoying going through it. Thanks!
