Etsy favorites: new weekly series

If you are looking for handmade goods for your children’s boutique or gift shop, Etsy is a great place to discover emerging designers. Although you can search categories including children and toys or the curated gift guides, the idea of sorting through thousands of designers can be a bit daunting to say the least!

So I thought I’d start a weekly series highlighting a few of my favorite Etsy shops every Monday. Although I cannot guarantee that every designer I feature will offer wholesale, it’s worth following up if something catches your eye.

Luckylife Etsy shop silver elephant

This sweet elephant in silver by luckylife is the creation of Melissa, a mom of two who is based in New Jersey. I love the photo styling with the necklace over the wooden block and perhaps it’s because of this that I immediately thought it would make a lovely gift for a little girl. Each piece is made individually when ordered. Check back for new designs in the coming weeks.

rikrak Etsy shop baby bibs

At rikrak you’ll find reversible, quilted baby bibs made of a patchwork of beautiful upcycled vintage fabrics. These special occasion bibs are one-of-a-kind or limited editions. The bit of rikrak along the edge of each bib is a nice detail! Also look for the cute iron-on letters and heart patches that can be used to customize just about anything. This shop is based in Ottawa, Canada and wholesale inquiries are welcome.

SleepingForest etsy shop spinning tops

Sleeping Forest Studios is another Canadian shop, though this time based in rural Nova Scotia. You’ll find heirloom quality wooden items created by husband and wife team Jai and Lauren Soloy. These handcrafted wooden spinning tops would delight any child!

Makeitawesome Etsy shop bunnies

Sonja Ahlers has been making these adorable Fierce Bunnies for over 15 years using vintage angora sweaters. She’ll soon be adding more items to her Etsy shop. You can learn more about Sonja by checking out her interesting interview with Jan from Canadian design blog Poppytalk.
